March 18th,2015 LHCC AGM

At last weeks AGM 28 members attended an interesting meeting that lasted just over an hour. The new committee was elected successfully with only two changes as new members joined our team. The weather was extreemly foul so it was not surprising that fewer than normal members attended. All members enjoyed a hot supper afterwards and reviewed videos of last years events.

30th September 2014 Full Events Calendar

As we finish September we have almost completed over 48 events this year. The LHCC is one of the most active car clubs in the UK with an ever expanding membership that now exceeds 230 members for a multi-marque regional car club. We currently have 5 openings on our committee for members to join us in 2015. You will be rewarded with a great team to work with and a lot of respect from members. One of the benefits of committee membership is that you get advance warning of upcoming events, which therefore allows early sign up when we have limited attendance at certain events.

A motion was passed to form a sub-committee to look into the future of the club’s status as a Limited Company and present their findings at the 2015 AGM for a decision by the membership as to the future of Limited company status.

9th,June,2013 Gideon’s Museum

17 LHCC member’s cars enjoyed a superb car run departing from Kendal via Tebay with a lunchtime picnic stop on the Cumbrian Fells in excellent weather, for a unique visit to Mr G. Booth’s private car museum. We last visited this museum several years ago so it was nice for newer members to enjoy a first time visit. After a close inspection of the very historic collection of automobilia from all over the world we enjoyed a lovely tea prepared by Mrs Booth in their delightful landscaped garden.

10 different Historic cars attended our stand in the middle of the show field on the Saturday and Sunday. Many members of the public valued their visit to our stand and we enjoyed their company. Just after lunch on each day we paraded around the ring to commentary provided by a member of our club. The Country Fest organisers were very helpful with the support we received for attending this unique event, and treated our members to their hospitality.

31st,March 2013 Car Show Levens Hall,Cumbria

The club’s members brought 36 cars in 5 deg weather to the display in front of Levens Hall. We thank the owners  Mr and Mrs Hal Bagot for allowing our club to once again visit this wonderful Hall. Winner of the annual award plaque was Mr Ian Gorton who won with his 1935 Morris 8 Tourer.  Arriving earlier than usual allowed me to visit the interior of the hall for the first time although I have enjoyed the gardens, when in previous years the weather has been a little warmer.  I was seriously impressed with this wonderful house and the views of the famous topiary gardens. Members saved over £10.50 by attending this event with their cars and we thank the Bagot’s for their support of our club. -Paul Senior-
